What more exciting way is there to get your family or group out on a mountain top tour than in a comfortable cabin on one of our powerful snowcats? You’ll meet at our reception desk in the Lakeview Lodge in Schweitzer Village where we’ll give you a brief introduction regarding your tour. Then you’ll be guided to an exhilarating chairlift ride up to our summit operations center where you’ll be introduced to our big snowcats.

These impressive pieces of equipment are usually used to shape ski runs or trails, and we’ve modified them with custom cabins trimmed with huge viewing windows. They’re also furnished with padded seats for ten adults, plenty of storage space, and hooks for parkas and knapsacks. With our picnic table and in-the-round seating in the cabins, we’re able to cater lunches with gourmet sandwiches, soups, and teas to hot, oven-fresh pizza, if you wish.
Enjoy a few hours traveling over mountain peaks through the deep powder snow, stopping along the way to take pictures, pitch a few snowballs, and learn natural history from one of our knowledgeable guides.
