To rest weary bones, every conceivable type of accommodation is available. The gamut includes convenient slopeside condos, large lakeside residences, B&Bs, and lakeside resort hotels. When selecting the location of accommodations, consider:
- the relatively light après and nightlife atmosphere of Schweitzer Village
- the 25+ min commute between the mountain village and town
To help narrow your search, we present the establishments below.
Slopeside lodges & condominiums
Schweitzer Village is a wonderful community of mixed housing surrounding the ski area base of operations. Within the community, Schweitzer manages the Selkirk and White Pines Lodges along with a collection of premier and standard condominiums. One of our very favorite’s is Glades 3A, a large unit designed specifically for powderhounds and located slopeside on Musical Chairs.
Waterfront & resort residences
If a well-appointed luxury residence is your choice for lodging, then take a look at the wonderful selection of executive homes Daugherty Management offers. On the lake’s edge is Villa Z; pick this gem, and invite all your family and friends! One of best up in the Village is 42 Headwall, a contemporary condo laid out spectacularly and situated just above the ski area complex allowing for ski-in / ski-out access to the main lifts.
Slopeside Bed & breakfast
Your hosts, Mel & Marsha Bailey, will treat you superbly in their large and comfortable Euro-accented villa. Located in the Schweitzer Village, Schweitzer Mountain Bed & Breakfast is accessed from the steep-and-deep double black diamonds or the greens and blues of South Bowl. Getting back to the base area is a simple slide down a green run called the Overnighter.
Lakeside resort hotels
Best Western Edgewater Resort
Location—say it three times! As the name implies, the Edgewater is a lakeside resort in the heart of Sandpoint and rests on shores of our coveted City Beach. Walk to Starbucks in the wee hours and stumble back from the fabulous eateries and watering holes of downtown after playing in the snow all day. Bonus: Trinity, an award winning eatery, is anchored on site; and the SPOT Bus, our free community transportation service, can convey you from town to the mountain and back again leaving the driving to someone else!
The Priest Lake docks of Hill’s Resort serve as one of our heli ports. As the prime resort of the lake for 75 years, we’re proud to partner with the Hill Family on presenting an unmatched helicopter skiing experience. Ski the majestic powder of the Selkirks with our heli guides then stay in extremely well-appointed shoreside cabins steps away from their award-winning restaurant & bar. Be careful: this can be a potentially addicting combination! We welcome heli skiing guests to contact us for special package rates.
