Selkirk Traverse

Overview

Join us for a 2-day guided, non-mechanised tour of the Selkirk Crest in Idaho on our new Selkirk Traverse tour. This "second leg" of the famous traverse is a remote, challenging backcountry experience known for its abundant, deep powder snow and spectacular views of the rugged mountain spine and frozen lakes. Our 6-mile route starts at Schweitzer's northern boundary and runs northwesterly summiting over Mts. Keokee, Casey and Atlasta before ending at an old lookout sight with views of both Coolin and Priest Lake. Along with your experienced guide you’ll traverse through uncrowded, snowghost slopes as you ski tour to our new dome on the western ridge of Mt Atlasta at 6000'. Your overnight accommodations will be in our basically stocked 14ft diameter poly dome. The dome sleeps up to 6, is warmed by an electric-based mini-micro diesel furnace aand stocked with basic sleeping and cooking equipment for a comfortable, remote, summit winter camping experience.
